I remember that fateful day I pressed play on a random cassette and found this concert. The highlight is without a doubt the Scarlet>Fire monster!! I was wondering if anyone could confirm that this is indeed the longest version they have played?

I will have to queue this one up, next night (11/2) was my second show. We had tried to get tix for 10/31 but couldn't - 11/2 was all we 16 year old newbies could get.

This is my 2nd or 3rd favorite Scarlet fire ever! It is a beautiful thing to behold....My very favortite would be 1978-02-05, which is beyond words! Also check out the crazy Samson to kick off the second set...

Hey, I touted this one a couple of years ago and was pooh-poohed for the FOTM.

It is KILLER how they take it and place each note perfectly where it needs to as if populating the crescent moon's sky with stars.

It bubbles and squeaks and is so ... deliberate.

Great call.

Isn't that the one that's the hidden track on the Dick's Picks from 81?

Yep. Also one of my faves from the Brent era. One individual said he didn't like it because Jerry was just "noodling" during the transition. If that's the case, you can just call him Jerry "Chef Boyardee" Garcia and I'd still love it. The only drawback, and it's a big one for some, is Brent's synth sound. I must say I find it a tad grating at times, but what Jerry produces makes that a very minor issue.
